I love having the chance to be connected to little people before they even arrive earth side. Maternity sessions are one of my favorite because there is something so special and powerful about a woman who is carrying a new life. She is never more connected to the earth and the universe then when she is with child. I had an amazing time capturing the essence of this soon to be changed family. And soon, I will be privileged to see a new soul enter this world.
And may I just say this earth mama rocked her session!

A magical time | Fairy Tale Mini Sessions

My mind has been hard at work these past few days. I swear I feel like I just birthed a brain baby and it.was.big. :)
As nervous as I was to even begin, it turns out I have been having a blast setting up for the mini sessions, doing test shoots, gathering props. Of course I had some amazing help and models who braved the 150 degree weather (or at least that's what it felt like ;)
The sets for girls are complete. Well, in my mind they are. I will be working on ideas for boys next. I don't want to put everything out in the open because I would like to leave an element of surprise when my clients arrive.

It is the most awesome feeling to invited back to revisit a family and document their life changes. And of course it doesn't hurt when the reason is a sweet and perfect new baby girl :)

After a week of no internet I can finally post photos from the past few sessions. I got to spend some of my weekend with this beautiful family who will soon welcome a little bundle of joy. I can't wait to meet him :)

Morning Light | Willowbrook IL, Baby Photography

It feels so nice to shoot for no other reason that to shoot. I decided I need some photos of Gavin eating his feet before he stops doing it but I ended up getting this instead. It feels so nice to find magical light. And now I am so happy to have gotten a few photos of the sweetest baby ever, and captured the morning light. I have to remember that inspiration is everywhere I just have to take the time to stop and notice it :)

I started out shooting pretty open at 2.0, but then thought I should play around with the aperture and see if I can capture more of the light rays.

"It’s amazing how you can speak right to my heart" | Lake Geneva WI, Wedding Photography { Part 1}

When Amanda first asked me to photograph her wedding I just about died from the excitement and anxiety. You see, this would be the first wedding that I have ever photographed. But now I am beyond happy that she asked me to share this experience with her and her groom.  Everything, the venue, the carriage, the decor, the dress, everything,  was beyond gorgeous. Amanda was stunning and Michael had so much love and happiness in his eyes for his one and only. 
Thanks again guys for allowing me to document this amazing journey for you. It was one of my most favorite days...ever <3

Happy 1st Birthday Maria!!!!! I met little Miss when she was almost three months old, and I think she remembered me at her session.  She wanted me to carry her around instead of having me photograph her, ha ha how cute! I had an absolute blast with this family, although I didn't get my Oreos this time ;)













Maria enjoys, standing, reading books, looking out the window, eating leaves, and taking cakes apart :)
